Yahoo mail is a free consumer email service that’s available on desktop and mobile devices. It includes various tools to improve inbox organization, unsubscribe from unwanted emails, and store images and documents. It also offers package delivery tracking, travel and reservation confirmations, high-contrast themes, dynamic text resizing, and screen reader support.
Inbox Zero – Stop Spam and Get to Inbox Zero
The Yahoo Clean Email app will help you achieve inbox zero by helping you train the Yahoo spam filter to automatically separate spam from your other messages. It also has several tools to help you declutter your inbox by deleting and moving up to 10,000 emails at once from different senders or categories. It even helps you manage digital receipts and gift cards in one place.
Inbox Filters – Find what’s important faster with inbox filters that sort your email by attachments, starred, or unread. Plus, the new gift card view allows you to see all of your unused gift cards in one place so you don’t miss out on future purchases.
Productivity Reminders – Stay focused with productivity reminders that help you remember what matters most. And with one-tap unsubscribe you can quickly stop receiving stress-inducing brand promos and newsletters.
Message Default Font – Choose from a variety of styles and sizes to find the best fit for your personal preferences. You can also create your own custom fonts by dragging and dropping from the list.
HTML and CSS – Yahoo mail isn’t perfect, but it does have good support for the most common HTML and CSS used in email design today. It does have some issues, however, such as a lack of support for media queries and blue links. The most recent update fixes both of these problems, but if you’re still having trouble with your emails in Yahoo Mail, it’s probably a good idea to try using a more modern webmail client.
Yahoo’s Mail app has a familiar interface, but the interface is not nearly as intuitive as the Gmail app. The Yahoo app displays your inbox — which, by default, includes Primary, Social, and Promotions — and your folders based on labels. Alternatively, you can swipe left to right for quick access to your files.
Storage – 1TB of free space is more than enough for most people, but you can pay to upgrade to up to 50GB or even 30TBs on a premium plan. Outgoing emails can’t exceed 25MB, but you can attach large files to them via Google Drive.
If you’re a heavy user of email, you may find that the app’s free space isn’t enough to accommodate your needs. If you need more space, it’s a good idea to sign up for a Yahoo Mail Plus account, which gets rid of the ads and lets you retrieve your email via POP or IMAP.
Despite its shortcomings, Yahoo Mail is still a reliable and useful option for many users. It’s easy to set up, and its security isn’t as bad as Google’s. The only real drawbacks are the intrusive advertising and its inability to sync with other apps.
